Trail Descriptions:

These are just a few of the more popular Trails available at the Cove Campground.

Pinnacle (2) This is a main Trail that takes you up the mountain near the spectacular extreme obstacles of Insanity and Bunny Trails ending up at the Overlook.

Log Bridge Loop (4) A muddy, rutted Trail through the woods that will test driver skill and machine as you navigate errant logs and off camber trenches filled with the sloppy goo!

Gulch (8) A seasonal Trail that takes you up a rocky ravine filled with switchbacks, logs and offcamber climbs then dropping sharply back into a creek filled with logs and ledges on your way back down to the exit. This Trail is only open at certain Events. Check with Event Staff before scheduling this ride.

Camp 8 (3)

Mesh Mash (2)

Sissy (3)

Squealer (4) A long competitive climb beginning with very loose rocks at the bottom and a nice slab half way up to bounce up. This Trail can be very challenging when its wet!

Boulder (6)

V-Trail (6) Beginning by crossing a creek, this trail starts off muddy then quickly turns to rocks and tight turns with a very steep climb at the end that loops around and takes you back out the way you came.

Wahoo (7) A tight gully that drops down with a few diversions over logs before climbing back out to the main Trail.

Cobra (7)

Winch (7)

Pucker (3)

KGB Trail (7) A rocky climb with several lines to take. This Trail has a lot of loose boulders and offcamber climbs.

Hardrock Crawlers (7)

Pennsyltuckian (8) This Trail offers a lot of options over very large boulders while climbing up the side of the mountain.

Corum (7)

ET (10) Difficult ledges and offcamber climbs characterize this Trail as well as a lot of loose rock!

K2 (3 down-8 up) Very steep hill designed to run down but on occasion has been climbed.

Hell Hole (10) Short steep bowl filled usually filled with water which makes the climb out all the more exciting!

Insanity (10) A classic favorite for buggy’s, this Trail is filled with Volkswagen sized boulders strewn across the side of the mountain as you can enter this trail either from the top or the bottom and most of the lines are offcamber.

Bunny Trail (10) This area is located right off the main Trail (Pinnacle) and is typically used in the Virginia State Rockcrawling Championship during the Big Dogs Main Jambo. Several ways to run the large boulder strewn hole that offers steep ledges on two sides with crevasses’ and drop-offs throughout! Spectator friendly, this Trail is accessible by stock vehicles.

Hay I see my CJ in that big pic of the drivers meeting. Must have been taken last year at Summer Slam. I do plan on being there again this year.
The 4xadventures.com web site has not been updated for this event and fees, looks like its $85 for the 3 days and another $40 for land use to the cove. It was easy to pre-register with John Hunt via payPal but I guess for this I'll register when I get there.

Ya need a couple spares to keep one on the road.
Hmmm, I think someone snuck a extra one in there. I don't remember buying all those Jeeps.
Vote against all incumbent politicians and set term limits for the rest. If they know they'll get booted, maybe they will fix this mess.

I'd love to come hang out that Sat night, but I'll be down in AL working on the 'Noma. (Shame, too, 'cause I'll bet there's gonna be some sweet shit being raffled off!)
